Camp Amandla - Living Positively with HIV Camp Amandla - Living Positively with HIV

Welcome to Camp Amandla - Living Positively with HIV
Amandla means “power” in xhosa and zulu. This word has been used as popular rallying cry throughout South African history. At Camp Amandla this word has a similar effect. We are fighting against HIV, against the stigma, fear and hatred that this virus has caused all over the world. At Camp Amandla we strive to teach our kids that HIV is not a death sentence, you can still be an active member of society and be HIV positive.

We strive to provide a safe environment for South African children to express their fears and concerns about living with HIV/AIDS.
We aspire to encourage our kids to be active participants in their future and their community, no matter what their HIV status.
At Camp Amandla we aim to emPOWER our kids to “Live Positively With HIV”
