DIVORCE – where do I start?

Divorce is a reality but only when it is happening to you. I am neither a lawyer or psychologist but have written this publication from first hand experience having gone through a divorce after 20 years of marriage.

The first reaction is “find myself a good lawyer” Yes that probably will be the road to go but if you do a little homework first the legal costs can be kept down and the eventual outcome more positive.

Divorce? My personal experience was a positive financial settlement but that was after months of legal battles resulting in legal cost for myself and ex-husband of nearly R400K.  Had I known then what I know now those costs would never have run up like that.

Along with the purchase of my publication you will also receive assistance from me where possible via email. The problem I found was that the lawyers did a great job resolving financial issues but so much is fuelled by emotions during a divorce and had I the opportunity to discuss issues directly with my ex-husband rather than all via the lawyers things may just have been a little less “messy”. If I could turn the hands of time back I would do things differently as I now know that children become a bartering tool which is most unfair on them. Image

The cost of my publication is R250.00 and will include 10 free emails answering your questions and assisting you to be prepared before your first visit to your attorney such that you are able to ask for what you are legally entitled to.  One very big area that I missed out on was retirement planning which only occurred to me after the final divorce order went through – too late for me now.

Meeting new people

I found meeting new people one of the most difficult things to do especially as a women.Hanging around a pub just doesnt do it for me.I joined the local country club which was great as it seems more acceptable than a pub.

I also joined a dating line on the internet but found it too general and was horrified at the number of married people on the site.We are presently adding a similar service to our site but it will be exclusively for over 35 and exclusively for divorced, single and widowed persons.Sorry to you married ones but we are not trying to promote divorce here but new friendships for our members.

The cost will be R150.00 for a six month period. In order to get the site going we are offering a free six months subscription to the first 500 applicants. To get your free subscription email me on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it - with a select user name - age gender - status ie single .

We also intend to organise a few get togethers for the members as its so much nicer to go to a social evening where you are all in the same boat so to speak than going to meet someone one on one.The events will only be hosted in Durban intially but if successful and we can find organisors in other regions who knows.
