OUR HISTORY
Marshall Kaplan was
established more than 100 years ago when the late William Francis
Marshall commenced the practice of Marshall & Drake at 58 Oxford
Street, East London, in approximately 1880. He was joined in
partnership by Abraham Kaplan in 1934. In 1949 Lewis Kaplan joined
the firm and on 01 March 1984, Steven Leslie Nelson Clarke and
Michael Richard Kestell Francis were admitted as partners. On the
1st of March 1976 an amalgamation of three firms took place. These
firms were Randall & Bax, Addelson Kirk & Moolman and Norton Gale
& Kingon, and became known as The Bax Partnership until the 1st of
March 1997 when they were incorporated and named Bax Incorporated.
A new legal force was created on the 1st March 2004
with the amalgamation of Bax Incorporated & Marshall & Kaplan Inc.

The construction of a
new building, and the smooth transition from two firms to one,
with the amalgamation of skills, data and personnel, is living
proof of what Bax Kaplan Incorporated can do for their clients’
businesses – whether they be small one-man operations or
multi-million rand corporations.
Whether it’s the registration of a close corporation or company,
the drafting of contracts or complicated township sub-divisions
and registrations, they have the necessary skills to complement
their clients’ professional teams and to add value to their
projects. In the last decade there have been more fundamental
changes to the legal system and technology than in the past one
hundred years. The rate of change is escalating at an alarming
rate and Bax Kaplan Incorporated believe that only those who keep
abreast will have a hope of surviving. The firm offers a service
which is backed by state of the art technology, comfortable
offices with secure parking in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, and
a team of professional staff who are willing to go the extra mile
to ensure the best service for their clients. |
