Northern Mozambique the hard way

March 15th, 2006

Dhow Crew

We bounced down in Pemba, found a Landy and travelled north, overland to the village of Ntamba. Here I had the opportunity to photograph members of the Makonde tribe known for their practice of facial scarification. At Mocimboa do Praia we hired a dhow. From the rugged decks of this 11 meter beauty, with a crew of five, we explored the chain of islands that make up the Querimba archipelago. We got hot, wet, stranded, stared at and chased away during this amazing three week odyssey which ended back in Pemba.

:: eprints:: SA’s first online photo printing service

November 6th, 2005

I haven’t ever used something like this but reckon it would be a pretty useful and hassle-free resource to send prints to people you’ve met on a trip for example. I’ll try it at some point but if you do so before I do, please let us know what you think.

Are companies going to the blogs?

June 8th, 2005

Can early adoption of this technology serve photography / photographers? Forums are ok, they just take up so much of my inbox and most of it is repeated info, replies to replies. Here’s an article I found on Bizcommunity, ignore this medium at your own peril… Are companies going to the blogs?

May 26th, 2005

Chris Reilly has supplied the old PPSA Pricing and Usage Guide. While the copies I have made are not the prettiest things you’ll ever see, they are useful. Remember these were last updated in 2000 so adjust your calculations accordingly.
