WARNING - What you should know

Don't get me wrong, there are a great number of installers out there doing exceptional work, but unfortunately in our experience, we've come across a great deal of inferior workmanship and in most cases sub standard equipment have been supplied to unsuspecting customers, who paid for decent equipment.

One of the biggest problems we encounter is inadequate dishes and low spec cable.
Since the launch of HD in August 2008, we refused to install HD systems onto a dish size smaller than 90cm. As a result we lost a number of HD sales to opposition who were, and still are prepared to do installations with 60cm dishes and low spec cable.

Let me explain why we do things the way we do:
Firstly the amount of bandwidth required for HD is much higher than for standard definition, as you could imagine. Therefore signal attenuation (especially in cloudy weather) will occur much easier with a smaller satellite dish and / or when low spec cable is installed.
The current standard for the MultiChoice broadcast of HD content is 720p50 resolution, however, they may from time to time broadcast in 1080i25 at which point the amount of bandwidth conveyed increases dramatically, as you can imagine.
The current PACE receiver uses MPEG-2 technology, but all information available indicates that the new UEC receiver (to be launched soon) will make use of MPEG-4 technology.
Now imagine the impact on your signal quality if your installer used 32 braid cables, with the increased bandwidth. Even worse imagine the attenuation if you're using a 60cm dish, especially if your picture is already breaking up from time to time.
The worst case scenario we've encountered was an installation on a 60cm dish using a SAT-CR LNB and 32 braid cable. Whoever tried to do this installation, assumed it's possible to force a quad LNB signal through a 32 braid single cable, on a 60cm dish. Needless to say, it didn't even work properly on the SD channels, never mind when recording two channels and tuners 2 & 3 start working!

We refuse to install the HD receiver with a dish smaller than 90cm. We only use 64 braid cable on ALL installations and when we do an installation with a SAT-CR LNB, we only use genuine copper cable.

Now before you choose a "cheaper" installer, ask them if they use the same equipment and let's compare apples with apples!

PACE TDS 850 High Definition PVR

HD PVR

Congratulations to Multichoice and DStv in successfully launching the spectacular High Definition PVR. With exceptional picture clarity and easy to use features, this is definitely the most sought after piece of hardware you'll ever experience!

HD has revolutionized the television experience with lifelike viewing, sharper images, more vibrant colours and precision picture quality. The image quality has up to five times more detail than your normal digital TV.

HD is a digital television broadcasting system with higher resolution than traditional Standard Definition (SD) television systems. Instead of using the conventional 625 lines to plot a TV picture, HD uses 720 or 1080 lines. In addition, the pixels in each of those lines are smaller and closer together, resulting in hugely improved picture quality, clarity and colour definition.

HD also uses more colours than SD, increasing the richness and intensity of everything you watch. Most HD programmes and movies utilise the widescreen 16:9 format and are also created with cinema-style surround sound, that you can experience in full with a compatible surround sound system.

It´s the ultimate way to watch your favourite movies, series and sporting events and it´s going to deliver so much more! For pricing and terms, please have a look at our PROMOTIONS page.
