To understand what Solar Water Heating Technology is and how it works, we will give you a short description below. The main part of Solar Water heating technology is the Solar Collector. Solar collectors transform solar radiation into heat and transfer that heat to a medium (water, solar fluid). Then solar heat can be used for heating water in the geyser or for heating of swimming pools. The heart of a solar collector is the absorber. Simple and low efficiency absorbers called flat plate collectors usually are composed of several narrow metal pipes, connected to a sheet of metal. The water for heat transfer flows through the heat-carrying pipe, which is connected to the absorber. Absorbers are typically made of copper or aluminum. Their absorbing efficiency of solar energy reach only 70-80% during hot summer days. They can heat water in storage tanks just up to 55-650C with out the use of electricity. The new GoSolar Water Heating Evacuated Tubes technology is far more efficient and is being used all around world. In this type of vacuum collector, the absorber strip and heat transfer pipe are located in an evacuated and pressure proof glass tube. The heat transfer pipe incorporates a special fluid which begins to vaporize even at low temperatures. The steam rises in the individual heat pipes and warms up the carrier fluid in the main pipe by means of a heat exchanger. The condensed liquid then flows back into the base of the heat pipe. Several single tubes interconnected, via a manifold which makes up the solar collector. In this type collector the solar absorbing efficiency can reach 97% and heat water in the tank up to 85C0 without the use of electricity.
