Well , today marks the 1st day of the new name for The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park being changed to iSimangaliso Wetland Park , and herewith from us at ST LUCIA TOURS and CHARTERS we hope that the new name will have a positive effect on The Park . The town of ST LUCIA will not come into effect , as well as Cape Vidal , Hluhluwe , Sodwana , Kosi Bay and all other areas AROUND The Park , it is o.n.l.y The Parks’ name that is changing . It will take some extensive marketing from all of us to ensure that the new name change gets out to all tourists alike and that people will still know where to find us .

St. Lucia - South Africa
In the words of our former President Nelson Mandela, "The Wetland Park Park must be the only place on the globe where the world’s oldest land mammal (the rhinoceros) and the world’s biggest terrestrial mammal (the elephant) share an ecosystem with the world’s oldest fish (the coelacanth) and the world’s biggest marine mammal (the whale)."
Great Sovereign of the sea and sky
We’ve heard the sad, lamenting cries
Of whales harpooned and killed by men
Who ply the seas in search of them
In vessels great with hearts of stone
They think the world is theirs alone
Oh hear us when we pray to Thee
For whales in peril in the sea
Great Sovereign of the sea and sky
Forsake not whales, don’t let them die
We children of the world have needs
Not noticed in this world of greed
We need to hear the mighty songs
Of whales forever singing strong
Oh hear us when we pray to Thee
For whales in peril in the sea
